The Project ID
By default, when you save a TAD file; it save it in binary format. In that file, TAD preserves the “stamp” of the user who created the file. Such a file can ONLY be created by that user. So how will other collaborator open that file? By default, they cannot. That is how your data is protected
But if you do want your collaborators to open your files; you need to create a “Project ID” file. That Project ID is to be created in the same folder as the file which will later be given to your collaborators. Once you create this Project ID, then you would need to save the file in binary (default) format at least once; else TAD will NOT know how to associate the Project ID file with your file.
Once that is done; you will find a file called “project.id” in the same folder as that of the file. Now you can happily give that project.id to your collaborator along with your file that that person can open. Ask him/her to keep both in the same folder (Also, note other TAD files from the same folder also need to be saved by you at least once in the presence of the project.id file, if you want those files also to be opened by your collaborator)
Now you may wonder what if that person passes on all this to someone else. (Sneaky? huh?)
No worries. You will get a special control page at our website; where you can configure the users that can use this project.id file. We also log the opening of the file; so you can get a report. In short, you can easily expire the project.id file as per your discretion; even if you have passed on the file (and the project.id) to the other person
