TAD can transparently open either the binary version of the model file OR the ascii version. When opening the former, it would check if the model was made by the currently registered user. If not, it would check for a permission.
TAD has its own internal DRM (Digital Rights Management) code embedded inside the model, which is based on the username. This protects the data of the design. If you want to distribute to all and sundry, the person saving the file should save it as “ascii”.
