Welcome to TAD

Thank you for installing TAD. Usually, the installer installs it in the following folder on a Windows computer:

C:\Program Files (x86)\TAD Designer Lite

To run the program, you can double click on the shortcuts created on your Windows Desktop. Or you can go to the aforementioned folder, go to the bin folder inside there and run TADDesignerLite.exe executable.

Running TAD for the first time
When you run TAD for the first time, it will attempt to authenticate you. You should join the Discord server and get yourself a username there. After joining Discord you should also become a member of our “teamTAD” community there. Use this link if you are not yet a member: https://discord.gg/KxuHQax It is a free community system – and does not have advertisements.

Keep Discord open on your computer when you fill the authentication form in TAD. Give your Discord username in that form, and proceed as per the instructions given there.

TAD works quite differently from existing CAD and BIM software!
So understand the points explained in this link here!

TAD has 2 interfaces!
TAD has both a “ribbon” based interface, where you get all the functions arranged in tabs at the top of the window. OR you can use TAD with a menu and draggable toolbar interface. In a fresh install, it starts using tabbed ribbons. If you want to switch TAD to the other interface, go to “Help” and click on “Toggle Interface” there. But NO files should be open when you switch the interface. When you later start TAD for another session, it will use the same interface you had used in the previous session.

Extensive documentation
You are reading this page from our documentation at http://docs.teamtad.com TAD is well documented.
